relied on, relied upon, followed, applied, approved — the bench decided on the strength of this case.
distinguished — held not to apply on those facts, but still good law. explained, not applicable — scope narrowed or clarified.
overruled, partly overruled — no longer good law, wholly or in part. disapproved — doubted without being formally overruled. Check before relying on it.
referred to, cited — discussed without being decisive.
