In this appeal by special leave, the dispute arose out ofa lease by a charitable trust in favour of a company. The respondent· Trust filed a suit for possession of a property taken on lease from it by the appellant company. The appellant responded by filing an application claiming protection under section 9 of the Tamil Nadu City Tenant's Protection Act (the 'Act').
