What the Court ordered

For the foregoing reasons, we are of the considered view that Clause 54 of the GCC bars the grant of interest for the pre- reference period, and that the Arbitral Tribunal, in awarding such 17 interest, exceeded the bounds of its jurisdiction under Section 31(7)(a) of the 1996 Act.
