In brief
The appellant, accused in a double-murder/robbery case arising out of an incident on 02.07.2022, was declared a juvenile by the Juvenile Justice Board, Agra on 23.06.2023, his date of birth (12.07.2005) making him 16 years 11 months 21 days old on the date of the offence. Despite that declaration, he continued to be lodged in a regular jail meant for adult prisoners for over two years and five months, until this Court directed his release on bail on 28.11.2025; the JJB and the State authorities each blamed the other for non-communication of the declaration order.…
