The material disclosed severe degradation of the Jojari-Bandi-Luni river system through discharge of untreated industrial effluents, with the SIT finding prima facie connivance between officials of Common Effluent Treatment Plants and their member textile units in deliberately bypassing treatment; graver penal provisions and arrests were, however, effected only shortly before the hearing date.…
