In brief
The parties married in 2004 under Sikh rites and had two sons, born in 2011 and 2014. The husband left the wife and children in June 2018, and the wife filed a divorce petition under Section 13(1)(ia) of the Hindu Marriage Act along with an application under Sections 24 and 26 seeking interim maintenance. The Family Court declined maintenance for the wife but awarded maintenance for the children, progressively enhanced to Rs.50,000 per child per month by order dated 12.07.2024, and the High Court further enhanced it to Rs.1,25,000 for both children.…
