In brief
The appellant married the deceased on 21.04.2014; on 13.06.2016 she was found hanging at the matrimonial home and her father lodged an FIR alleging cruelty and dowry harassment (chiefly for a Tata Safari car) by the appellant, his parents, sister, uncle and cousin. The inquest (Panchayatnama) recorded that both the room in which she was found and the main entrance were bolted from inside and had to be broken open, and the post-mortem recorded death by asphyxia from ante-mortem hanging with a single ligature mark and no other ante-mortem injury.…
