In brief
The appellant lived with the informant's brother-in-law, Jaidev Sharma, near the informant's house. On 28.06.2009 the informant's daughter, aged about four and a half years, went to Jaidev Sharma's house at about 8.30 a.m. and returned half an hour later; her mother found bloodstains on her pajama, washed the clothes and bathed her, and the child said she had been sexually assaulted by the appellant. The FIR was lodged the same day at 17.45 hours and the child was medically examined at 9.05 p.m.…
