What the Court ordered
We find absolutely no reason to permit the continuance of the proceedings. The proceedings before the JMFC, Nahan, District, Sirmaur initiated by Police Kalendra No.4 of 2021 shall stand quashed, whatever the stage be, no further proceedings shall be taken and if the appellant has been released on bail, the bail bonds shall stand cancelled. The appeal stands allowed.

In brief
The appellant is the sister of the second respondent's deceased husband. During the subsistence of the second respondent's troubled marriage, the two families were locked in bitter disputes and cross criminal proceedings, all of which were compromised by a settlement deed dated 20.06.2024 after the husband's death. What survived was a single complaint under Section 182 IPC (Police Kalendra No.4 of 2021) pending before the JMFC, Nahan, arising from the second respondent's allegation that the appellant had made false and misleading complaints against her and her family to various Government Departments to pressurise her.…
