In brief
Ravindra Deshmukh shot himself dead at his residence on 7th October 2024, and a six-page suicide note recovered from his pocket named ten persons, including the three accused-respondents, alleging sustained mental harassment, blackmail, intimidation and extortion of sums exceeding Rs.80,00,000/- beginning December 2023 through staged 'missing person' episodes used to threaten his political career and reputation. The note detailed various payments made to different persons under coercion, the last being Rs.40,00,000/- on 15th August 2024, nearly two months before the suicide.…
