The District Magistrate, Bulandshahar, the Appropriate Authority under the PCPNDT Act, received secret information that Respondent No. 1 and others were carrying out illegal sex determination of foetuses at a hospital. He deputed the Tehsildar of Khurja as Authorised Officer to conduct a decoy operation, and on the information gathered a raid was conducted at the hospital. This led to FIR No. 628 of 2017 and a police chargesheet against Respondent No. 1 under Sections 315 and 511 IPC and Sections 4, 5(2), 6(a), 23 and 25 of the PCPNDT Act.…
