We find no reason to sustain the common order in the review petitions, and we set aside the same. The common order allowing the appeals, after the reviews were allowed, which are also impugned in the present appeals, also stands set aside as a dependent order. ... The respondents' appeals before the High Court were dismissed by a learned Single Judge. They filed review petitions against that dismissal, which came to be heard by a different learned Single Judge and were allowed, on the reasoning that the judgment under review had not considered contentions of the review petitioners having a substantial bearing on the result of the case. On the very same day as the common order allowing the reviews, the same Judge passed a common judgment allowing the appeals themselves, declining to post the matter for further hearing on the ground that the merits had already been argued in the review petitions.…
